Job Advert: Year-End Accountant (3-Month Contract) | £50,000-£65,000 | Hybrid WorkingOur client, a well-established and growing organisation, is seeking an experienced Year-End Accountant to join their finance team on a 3-month contract. This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified professional who can confidently take the accounts from trial balance to final accounts production. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the business during its year-end process and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Location: Hybrid (office-based 2-3 days/week)Salary: £50,000-£65,000 pro rataContract Length: 3 monthsStart Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare year-end statutory accounts from trial balance
- Liaise with external auditors and manage audit queries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Review and adjust journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Assist with tax computations and filing support (where applicable)
- Provide insights and analysis to support the finance team during year-end
- Ensure all reporting deadlines are met in a timely and accurate manner
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to gather necessary financial data
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in year-end accounting and accounts preparation
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102
- Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software
- Comfortable working independently and hitting the ground running
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
