Are you an experienced HLTA with a passion for supporting children's learning and development? A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Liverpool is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

About the Role:

As an HLTA, you will work closely with class teachers and the senior leadership team to provide high-quality support across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2. You will lead small group interventions, cover classes during teacher absence, and support individual students with tailored learning activities. Your role will be crucial in helping pupils reach their full potential in a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver lessons and learning activities across the primary curriculum in the absence of the class teacher
  • Lead targeted intervention groups in literacy and numeracy
  • Support pupils with SEN and EAL needs under the guidance of the SENCO
  • Help to plan, prepare, and assess learning alongside the class teacher
  • Foster positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and learning
What We're Looking For:
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is essential
  • Proven experience working within a UK primary school setting
  • Confident in delivering lessons independently
  • A good understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to school life
