About the School

This specialist primary SEND setting supports children aged 4-11 with severe learning difficulties, often alongside complex medical needs, autism, and communication challenges. Many pupils are non-verbal and require a calm, structured and nurturing environment to help them feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

The school focuses on developing independence, communication, life skills and confidence through a personalised and highly supported curriculum.

Why Your Background Matters

If you have worked with children with SEND outside of a school setting (for example in care, therapy, health or community settings) your experience, compassion and understanding are incredibly valuable.

You may not have worked in a classroom before, but if you understand dignity, patience, communication and consistency, this could be the perfect next step for you.

We are looking for people who:

-Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND or complex needs

-Are calm, observant and responsive to individual needs
-Work well within a multi-disciplinary team

What You'll Be Doing

-Supporting children with severe learning needs in small-group and one-to-one settings
-Assisting with personal care, feeding and mobility support
-Helping deliver sensory, communication and life-skills-based activities
-Supporting behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
-Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to meet each child's care and learning needs
-Celebrating every achievement, no matter how small

What's On Offer

-Term-time only hours that fit well around family life
-A calm and supportive working environment
-Ongoing training and development in SEND and medical care
-Experience working in a well-established and respected setting
-100 joining bonus after 10 shifts
-250 refer-a-friend scheme

-Therapy or family support roles
-Youth and community work
-Nursery, childcare or early years settings

Personal experience supporting a child with SEND

If you're looking for a role where your care, compassion and resilience really matter, this could be the opportunity for you.
