This is a great opportunity for a practical, improvement-focused engineer to get stuck into a site that’s full of challenge, variety and investment. Supplying specialist pharmaceutical products, the facility is in a period of growth and change, with new equipment going in, old processes being overhauled, and plenty to fix, optimise and improve.

The process side is busy and physical: mixing, heating, steaming, fermenting, drying, all under tight compliance standards. You’ll be on the ground, solving problems, driving improvements and making things run better. If you’re the kind of person who likes to see the impact of what you do every day, this could suit you well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver process changes, ensuring compliance with site change control
  • Act as technical SME during audits and support safety and environmental investigations
  • Work with capital project teams to define process requirements and support commissioning
  • Champion process safety practices (COMAH, DSEAR), including PHRs and safety documentation
  • Support feed safety compliance and contribute to HACCP team activities where required

What you’ll need

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or similar
  • Background in process manufacturing such as pharma, chemicals, food, drink or FMCG
  • Experience with plant equipment including vessels, pumps, agitators and control valves
  • Understanding of GMP, safety systems and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of process improvement, risk management and compliance
  • Working knowledge of COMAH, feed safety or PSM is a plus

What you’ll get

  • £45,000 to £57,000 depending on experience
  • 10% bonus
  • 37.5 hour working week with flexible hours (10am to 4pm core time)
  • Hybrid working available (home working on an ad hoc basis)
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with length of service up to 28 days)
  • Option to buy or sell additional holidays
  • Pension: 10% employer contribution, plus up to an additional 3% employer match if you contribute a further 3%
  • Private medical cover through Bupa
  • Life insurance at 8x base salary (flexible up or down)
  • Ill health income protection cover
