Quantity Surveyor
North West (Manchester / Liverpool / Cheshire / Lancashire)
£55,000 - £65,000 + Package

Our client is a well-established and respected main contractor operating across the North West of England. They deliver a broad range of construction projects, including commercial builds, residential developments, refurbishments, and public sector works.

Due to sustained growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team and contribute to the continued success of the business.

The Role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the financial and contractual management of construction projects from pre-contract through to final account. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are commercially successful and delivered within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates, tender returns, and contract documentation
  • Carry out valuations and manage variations and change control
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor packages
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with site teams and clients
  • Manage interim payments and final accounts
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and commercial procedures

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of JCT and/or NEC forms of contract
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (or similar)

Desirable:

  • Experience across a range of project types (commercial, residential, public sector)
  • Professional membership (RICS or similar) preferred but not essential
