Temporary Quantity Surveyor

You will be joining a well-established and reputable housing provider operating across the Liverpool City Region. The organisation manages a large residential portfolio and is recognised for delivering high-quality property improvements, responsive maintenance, and community-focused investment. Our client is seeking a Temporary Quantity Surveyor to support a busy programme of social housing refurbishment works, focusing primarily on kitchen and bathroom upgrades across occupied properties. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on budget, to specification, and in line with compliance and contractual requirements.

• Managing cost control and commercial reporting across kitchen and bathroom refurbishment programmes

• Preparing, reviewing, and agreeing valuations, variations, and final accounts

• Liaising with contractors, site teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate cost tracking

• Carrying out site visits to monitor progress, verify completed works, and manage contractor performance

• Analysing subcontractor quotations and negotiating rates where required

• Ensuring all works are aligned with schedule of rates (SOR) and contractual obligations

• Maintaining accurate financial records, forecasts, and project documentation

• Supporting budget management, cost planning, and commercial decision-making

• Providing commercial input to help resolve issues, delays, or cost discrepancies

• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, procurement guidelines, and organisational standards

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing refurbishment

• Strong knowledge of kitchens & bathrooms workstreams and SOR-based contracts

• Ability to manage multiple work packages across occupied properties

• Excellent commercial awareness and cost-management skills

• Strong communication skills for working closely with contractors and internal teams

• Proficiency with MS Excel and cost-tracking systems

• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (site travel required)

• 28-35 per hour, paid weekly via umbrella or PAYE
