1:1 Secondary SEN Tutor Liverpool, Merseyside & Wigan

Up to GBP30 per hour | Flexible Hours | November Starts

Prospero Teaching is looking for experienced and dedicated Secondary Tutors to work with students across Liverpool, Merseyside, and Wigan.

This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 tuition to young people who are currently unable to attend mainstream education. Many of the students you'll support have SEN or SEMH needs, and require a patient, adaptable approach to help them re-engage with learning and develop confidence in their abilities.

You'll be delivering both Maths and English lessons at secondary level within each session, focusing on bridging learning gaps and promoting steady academic and personal progress.

Position Details:

Location: Liverpool, Merseyside & Wigan

Position: Secondary SEN Tutor (Maths & English)

Start Date: November 2025 (after October half term)

Contract Type: Part-time / Ongoing

Rate of Pay: Up to 30 per hour

Hours: Flexible daytime hours (typically between 9am - 4pm)

Requirements:

Experience delivering both Maths and English within the UK Secondary Curriculum

Confident supporting learners with SEN and SEMH needs

QTS or significant teaching/tutoring experience

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Right to work in the UK

Ability to travel across Liverpool, Merseyside, and Wigan

About the Role:

You'll work with students on a 1:1 basis in their homes or community settings, designing lessons that meet their individual needs and interests. A flexible, therapeutic, and person-centred approach is key to helping each student achieve success both academically and emotionally.

You'll receive ongoing support from our Childrens Education Services (CES) team, regular communication with your consultant, and feedback to help track each learners progress.
