Desian Education are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our expanding team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, particularly those considering a career in teaching.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise secondary aged students during the absence of teaching staff, ensuring that set work is completed in an orderly and productive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Ensure students remain on task and follow the school’s behaviour policies.
  • Provide brief feedback on lesson outcomes and student behaviour.
  • Support students with their learning where appropriate.
  • Manage classroom transitions and routines effectively.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people (preferably in a school setting).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A calm and authoritative presence in the classroom.
  • A positive attitude and a flexible, team-oriented approach.
  • A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; degree-level education desirable.
