Kinship Assessment Fostering Social Worker - Liverpool City Council
Rate: Up to £40 per hour
Contract Length: 1 placement until April 2026 / 1 placement 6 months
Liverpool City Council is looking for two experienced and dedicated Kinship Assessment Fostering Social Workers to join our stable and supportive Family and Friends / Kinship Assessment Fostering team. Due to an increase in our looked after children population, we need your skills to help ensure the safety of children and secure suitable alternative family placements for Liverpool's most vulnerable.
You'll be instrumental in completing viability reports and comprehensive Family and Friends Assessments, working diligently to court timescales. This involves close collaboration with local authority childcare and legal teams to achieve the best outcomes for children.
What we're looking for:
We need qualified social workers with a proven track record in fostering. You'll have experience in the following areas:
- Fostering assessments, preferably with a background in safeguarding.
- Completing Form C fostering assessments.
- Presenting assessments to the fostering panel.
- Completing viability, kinship, and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) assessments.
- A strong working knowledge of fostering regulations/legislation and National Minimum Standards.
- The ability to work effectively to court timescales.
- The ability to work collaboratively with local authority childcare and legal teams.
Location:
You'll be based at Parklands, Liverpool, L24 0TY, located outside the city centre with ample free parking. This role offers hybrid working, requiring you to be in Liverpool three days per week. Therefore, you'll need to live within a one-hour commutable distance to Liverpool.
A car driver is essential for this role.
