- Support Children in Care (CiC) and Looked After Children (LAC)
- Carry out care and placement planning with a focus on long-term stability
- Work directly with children, understanding the impact of trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
- Minimise risk through structured planning and effective engagement
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families
- Collaborate with multi-agency teams to ensure the best outcomes
- Qualified Social Worker (BA/MA/BSc/MSc in Social Work, DipSW, CSS or equivalent)
- Registered with Social Work England
- 4+ years' post-qualified experience in Children’s Services
- In-depth understanding of permanence planning, child protection, and relevant legislation
- Proven experience supporting vulnerable children and families
- Skilled in trauma-informed practice and direct work with children
- Strong communication, mediation, and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement and best practice
- Managing a varied caseload
- Conducting full assessments in line with the Care Planning, Placement and Case Review regulations
- Using specialist communication techniques to engage children and young people
- Creating tailored care plans that promote safety, dignity, and long-term stability
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff and students
