Randstad is recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Knowsley Council's MASH Team. This is a full time role offering £31.15 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Screen and assess referrals made to Children's Services, identifying levels of risk and need in line with local thresholds.
  • Gather and analyse information from multiple partner agencies including Police, Health, Education, and Probation to build a full picture of the child's situation.
  • Apply thresholds and decision-making frameworks to determine appropriate levels of intervention, ensuring timely and proportionate responses.
  • Complete safeguarding triage and assessments (Section 17/47 of the Children Act 1989) to identify children in need or at risk of significant harm.
  • Make evidence-based decisions on outcomes, such as Early Help support, Child in Need plans, or progression to statutory services.
  • Liaise with professionals in multi-agency settings, participating in strategy discussions and planning meetings where necessary.
  • Ensure all case records, chronologies, and assessments are accurately recorded on the electronic case management system (e.g., Liquid Logic).
  • Provide written summaries and recommendations to inform strategy meetings or transfers to locality teams.
  • Work to tight timescales in a fast-paced environment where prioritisation and critical thinking are key.
  • Promote a child-centred, strengths-based approach in all decision-making, upholding principles of safeguarding and social justice.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registered
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Social Work Degree or equivalent
