We are looking for a passionate and skilled Child Protection Social Worker to join our team in Liverpool, supporting vulnerable children and families across the city. You'll be part of a committed safeguarding team, working in partnership with local agencies to make a lasting impact on children's lives.
Key Responsibilities:-
Undertake child protection investigations and comprehensive risk assessments

Develop and review Child Protection, Child in Need, and Looked After Children plans

Hold and manage a varied caseload in line with Liverpool City Council's safeguarding procedures

Carry out statutory visits, direct work with children, and engage with families to promote safety and positive outcomes

Contribute to case conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings

Produce high-quality, evidence-based reports and maintain accurate case records

Collaborate with education, health, housing, and police services in a multi-agency context

Follow local policies in line with legislation including the Children Act 1989/2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children

Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and continuous development initiatives

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Experience in statutory child protection and safeguarding work

Sound knowledge of child development, risk assessment, and relevant legislation

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work flexibly and manage complex caseloads effectively

Commitment to Liverpool's child-centred, strengths-based approach

Enhanced DBS check

Full UK driving licence (desirable)
