Learning Support Assistant - Sefton

We are seeking empathetic and skilled Learning Support Assistants to support students in secondary schools across the diverse borough of Sefton. If you are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, this is the perfect role for you.

Overview of the Role: You will be an essential member of the school team, offering tailored support to students in the classroom. Your work will directly contribute to students' academic and personal success. Whether you are an experienced LSA or looking for a new career path, we have roles to suit your skills.

Duties:

  • Providing in-class support by working directly with students, either one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Assisting with learning materials, such as adapting worksheets or creating visual aids to meet student needs.
  • Supporting student well-being by acting as a mentor, offering emotional support, and building confidence.
  • Helping to manage student behaviour and maintain a positive classroom environment.
  • Communicating and reporting on student progress to teachers, the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), and other staff.
  • Supervising students during break times, lunch, or on school trips.
  • Implementing a student's individual support plan, such as an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), to ensure they receive the specific support they need.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check.
  • Eligible to Work in the UK (ETW).
  • The ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
