Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Are you a caring, patient, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs? A friendly and inclusive primary school in Wavertree is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team and make a real difference in the lives of our pupils.

About the Role:

You will support one or more children with additional needs - including autism, speech and language difficulties, social and emotional needs, or learning delays - either on a 1:1 basis or within a small group. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you'll play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, supported, and able to access learning.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Supporting pupils with EHCPs and identified SEN needs in the classroom
  • Implementing tailored strategies and interventions under teacher guidance
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with children and their families
  • Helping pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and independence
  • Promoting an inclusive learning environment for all children
  • Supporting the class teacher with planning and preparation where appropriate

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting
  • Is calm, nurturing, and able to adapt to different pupils' needs
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and child protection
  • Can work as part of a supportive team and communicate effectively
  • Holds a relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential)
