The Role:

We are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Formby, Liverpool. You will be working closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and Speech & Language needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in children's lives and helping every child reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Support children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Assist the class teacher in managing classroom activities
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and outside professionals as required

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or care setting
  • A calm, nurturing and patient approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply for one
