Job Advert SEN Tutor (Knowsley)

Prospero Teaching is seeking experienced SEN Tutors in and around Knowsley to deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition in Maths and English from KS1 through to KS4.

This is a part-time, flexible role (approx. 25 hours per week, Monday and Friday between 9am and 3pm) ideal for qualified teachers looking to return to the classroom, or retired teachers wanting to support vulnerable children in their community.

Role Details:

Location: Knowsley and surrounding areas (local travel required)

Hours: Approx. 25 per week, Monday to Friday (flexible within 9am and 3pm)

Pay: GBP27GBP30 per hour, depending on experience

Contract: Ongoing, part-time, flexible

Subjects: Maths and English (KS1 - KS4, depending on tutor preference)

Start date: ASAP

Requirements:

Strong SEN experience (minimum 2 years preferred) essential

Experience teaching/tutoring within the UK curriculum

QTS desirable (but not essential if strong SEN background)

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Ability to travel across Knowsley and surrounding areas

Patient, empathetic, and caring approach to working with vulnerable pupils

Confident delivering both Maths and English

Further Information:

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable pupils, many of whom have SEN. You'll deliver tailored 1:1 sessions, building structured learning plans that help children regain confidence and re-engage with education.

A flexible and therapeutic teaching style is often required to meet each pupils individual needs. Tutors are also expected to complete weekly progress reports to support pupil development and monitor outcomes.
