The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and resilient Sports Coach to join a mixed primary and secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in the Halewood area of Liverpool. This is a full-time, long-term position working with students who may display challenging behaviours, providing them with positive experiences through sport, physical activity, and structured routines.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and inclusive sports sessions tailored to the needs of students with SEMH.
Support pupils in developing teamwork, confidence, and resilience through physical activity.
Promote positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to ensure pupils are supported in both academic and extracurricular activities.
Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and motivating environment for all students.
Requirements:
Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply and cover the cost of a new one).
Strong background in coaching children and young people.
A minimum of 24 months' worth of employment references with no significant gaps in employment.
Resilient, patient, and confident when managing challenging behaviours.
A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
