Architectural Technician

A leading house builder have an opportunity for an Architectural Technician to join their team based in Merseyside. The company work across a number of housing schemes throughout the North West region delivering new build properties ranging from 2 bed starter homes to 4 bed family homes.

Architectural Technician Role

Reporting to the Technical Director the Architectural Technician is a core role within the technical team and is the main contact hub with the Planning and NHBC Portals for the team and also the invoice tracking system and document management system controller to ensure a reliable and consistent approach is maintained with these vital systems.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Main purpose of the role is to provide architectural support and technical guidance for both regional office and site-based operations
  • Preparation of working drawings and provide details for site operations and manage design details for bespoke units
  • Resolve, monitor where appropriate site queries to progress product development
  • Coordinate and manage various specialist suppliers and integrate their requirements into the working drawings packages
  • Procure / produce architectural detailing where non-standard;
  • Procure Building Regulation approvals;
  • Procure landscaping related surveys, designs and management plans;
  • Procure / produce information to assist the legal/sales team (deed plans etc)

Architectural Technician - Skills and Experience required

The successful Architectural Technician will have previous experience working on designs for new build housing developments.

  • Engineering/Design related qualification
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit
  • High level of interpersonal skills and a professional attitude to work;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent architectural knowledge - particularly house types;
  • Proven track record of delivering Building Control approvals;
  • Experience of planning, organising and prioritising own workload;
  • Experience of managing consultants
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Self-motivated, resilient and ability to work under pressure.

What's on offer?

The company are offering a salary of £35-40k + package, option of a company car or car allowance, pension scheme, healthcare, annual bonus scheme and various other employee benefits.
