The Role:

We’re looking for an engaging and supportive Tutor to deliver short, classroom-based courses across areas such as Construction Skills, Employability and Care. You’ll lead 2–3-week programmes for adult learners, helping them build confidence, gain accredited qualifications and progress towards their goals. The role involves planning and delivering lessons, assessing learner progress and ensuring every learner receives the right level of guidance to achieve positive outcomes. Occasional travel within the Liverpool City Region is required.
Duties:

  • Deliver accredited, classroom-based qualifications from Entry 3 to Level 2 to groups of up to 12–15 adult learners.
  • Complete initial and ongoing assessments to ensure learners are enrolled on the correct programme and receive suitable support.
  • Create learning opportunities that enable learners to complete assignments or sit exams successfully.
  • Mark portfolios and paper-based exams and maintain accurate assessment records.
  • Provide clear, constructive written and verbal feedback to support learner progress.
  • Set SMART development objectives tailored to individual needs.
  • Ensure all documentation and administrative tasks are completed in line with internal procedures.

Required Skills:

  • A motivating and inspiring approach, with the ability to engage adult learners.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to plan and organise workload effectively.
  • Confident IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above (PTLLS minimum).
  • Experience working with adults in the education sector and relevant industry knowledge.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with barriers to employment.
  • Maths and English at Level 2 (GCSE or Functional Skills).
  • IAG Level 2 or willingness to work towards it (desirable).


A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable) and if successful you will be required to undertake a DBS criminal records check.
