Reed Engineering are supporting their international manufacturing client to source an Electronic Technician to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

Based on their customer’s site in the Livingston area, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment, gain training opportunities and travel to other sites in Europe and internationally.

You will mainly be responsible for representing the client on customer site to update, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair their highly sophisticated equipment, mainly associated to inspection of scientific equipment. Other duties will include:

  • Minimise downtime on system equipment
  • Repairing of system level problems
  • Troubleshooting repair of complex and sophisticated tools
  • Interpreting of electronic schematics and drawings
  • Addressing system issues in: hardware, software, networking and automation applications

To be suited to this role, we require:

  • A candidate who has a strong background in Electronics – both in maintenance and repair
  • Previous experience of working on equipment such as: cameras, lasers, sensors, PCBs etc.
  • An Electronic Engineering degree (desirable)
  • Driving licence
  • Someone who is willing to travel around 20% of the time
  • Candidates who have worked in high compliance industries such as pharmaceutical, oil & gas etc. will be at an advantage
