Reed Recruitment are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Support Officer on behalf of our client to join their team in Livingston. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on supporting construction processes and ensuring project success. Join the team and contribute to delivering quality solutions that enhance communities.

Day-to-day of the role:

Project Support:

  • Attend pre-start and progress meetings with partners.
  • Monitor project progress through site visits.
  • Address project-related queries or complaints by attending relevant meetings.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships through regular meetings and communications.
  • Offer guidance and support on procurement solutions.
  • Represent the organisation at internal and external events, including 'Meet the Buyer' events and conferences.
  • Assist in the preparation of promotional materials.

Technical Support:

  • Validate contractor prices to ensure compliance with framework agreements.
  • Assist in compiling tender documents for call-off services.
  • Provide technical support to stakeholders for the use of products and services.
  • Participate in factory visits to assess product quality and conformity to specifications.
  • Support the Technical Support Manager in reviewing tender documentation, including technical specifications, terms, and pricing schedules.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Five years' experience in a building/construction/housing environment.
  • Understanding of building/construction products and services.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics systems or other databases.
  • Vocational qualification in a building or technical discipline.
  • Full driver's license for travel across Scotland with occasional overnights.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with housing associations, local authorities, or other public sector organisations.
  • Understanding of public sector procurement.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft BI and/or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Background in a trade or compliance industry.
