Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for a Nightshift Shift Manager working in West Lothian. You will work in a busy manufacturing facility leading a team of 14 staff.
The role is working 4 on 4 off - 12 hour shifts.
The role is responsible for ensuring the management and delivery of key manufacturing metrics, encompassing safety, food safety and product quality, customer order fulfilment and service while controlling the direct costs of labour, materials and utilities.

1. Be aware of site health and safety standards and ensure these are enforced throughout the area responsible.
2. Complete accident investigations, fully participate in site safety activities.
3. Manage the production 'clean as you go' and good manufacturing procedures to maintain a safe, hygienic and efficient work environment. Participate in GMP audits and progress actions.
4. Effectively manage a shift team of production personnel through delegation, coaching and support to deliver departmental KPIs and progress annual employee engagement metrics.
5. Manage training and development plans for team members to ensure skills are aligned to operational requirements.
6. Manage the shift operational hygiene team to ensure day-to-day site standards are maintained and product changeovers and clean downs are co-ordinated and efficient.
7. Control raw material usage through the central pre-weigh area. Use SAP data recording and analysis to control raw materials, participate in material control improvement initiatives.
8. Deliver KPI measures to achieve budgeted or standard performance, identify improvement opportunities to contribute towards a 'continuous improvement culture'. Share best practice with peers, participate in 'lessons learned' review activities.
9. Deliver the supply chain production plan, alert the planning team of any drift from target, conduct RCA activities on areas of concern.
10. Drive effective performance management using lean manufacturing techniques.
11. Provide clear communication, capture manufacturing performance metrics and report them. Perform clear shift handovers. Cascade business information to the shift team. Escalate points as appropriate.
12. Participate in project activities to drive performance improvement within the manufacturing function.
Essential
Previous production/manufacturing management experience.
Strong management skills
PC literate, good excel skills
Customer driven with collaborative and hands-on approach
