The Recruitment Co. is currently recruiting for several Recycling Operatives (Automotive) to join our clients team based in the Llanelli area.

Contract: 6-12 months temp ongoing contract starting mid June 2025. Some permanent opportunities available for the right candidate after this period.

Salary: £12.21ph Hours of work: 37.5 hours paid per week: Mon- Thurs: 8.30am-5pm & Fridays 9am-3pm. Overtime is available and paid at 1.5 once worked over 40 hours.

Responsible for: The safe, efficient operation of machinery in order to prepare and process our waste automotive batteries. The role also involves storage and monitoring activities in order to ensure legislative and operational compliance. The ideal candidate will be practically minded with a great work ethic and a can-do attitude, be safety conscious, able to follow processes in order to work in a safe manner and ideally have some electrical knowledge. You will be supported with on the job training, processes developed by our clients experienced onsite engineers and performance reviews with line managers.

Role Duties:

  • Testing and interrogation of waste automotive Lithium-Ion batteries
  • High Voltage work
  • Dismantling and Discharging activities
  • Safe operation of the battery reducing machinery and tools
  • Receiving battery deliveries and storage of batteries
  • Daily battery monitoring in order to fulfil our compliance obligations
  • Liaising with onsite engineers for acquiring the latest processes to be followed
  • Loading the outgoing material on to the lorries for shipping
  • Ensuring all the paperwork and packaging for the outgoing goods is compliant
  • Identify and report any mechanical defects and maintenance requirements for the plant
  • Responsible for displaying relevant safety signage during High Voltage work
  • Alert the relevant person(s) to any incidents in a timely manner

  • Responsible for working in a safe manner
  • Basic computer literacy

Beneficial experience but not essential:

  • Electrical Experience
  • Experience of working in a technical environment
  • Forklift Driver Licence

Training provided:

  • Hazardous Voltage Training
  • First Aid Training
