We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join the team at a leading construction company. The Accountant will manage financial records, ensure accurate reporting, and support the financial health of the company. This role requires a strong understanding of construction accounting practices, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Financial Reporting:**

- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts.

- Analyze financial data to provide insights and support decision-making.

2. **Project Accounting:**

- Track project costs, budgets, and profitability.

- Ensure accurate allocation of costs and revenue to construction projects.

- Manage project billing and payment processes, including progress claims and change orders.

3. **General Ledger Management:**

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

- Process journal entries and ensure accurate recording of transactions.

4. **Accounts Payable and Receivable:**

- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoicing and payment processing.

- Manage vendor relationships and resolve any payment or billing issues.

5. **Compliance and Auditing:**

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

- Prepare for and support internal and external audits.

6. **Budgeting and Forecasting:**

- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

- Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.

7. **Financial Analysis:**

- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning and project evaluations.

- Identify areas for cost control and process improvements.

8. **Documentation and Record Keeping:**

- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.

- Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.

- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the construction industry.

- Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices and financial management.

- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and standards.
