We are working in association with a privately-owned property Investment Company owning a unique portfolio of residential properties based in Canary Wharf, who are seeking a pro-active Accountant to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Property Management Accounts Manager/ Bookkeeper to join a leading independent lettings agency, based full-time in the client offices which are located in Canary Wharf.

The role will involve full book-keeping, client accounting and management accounts, always ensuring the smooth running of the financial side of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor and Client Management: Oversee financial transactions with vendors and clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual terms.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal regulations.
  • Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent financial discrepancies.
  • Audits: Coordinate and support external audits, address audit queries, and implement audit recommendations.
  • Compliance and Regulation: Stay updated on accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices. Implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous accounts and bookkeeping experience essential.
  • Residential lettings and property management accounts experience essential.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Possess strong time management skills.
  • Possess good IT skills, including Excel (intermediate level).
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and under own initiative.
  • Demonstrate very good written and verbal communication skills.
