Reed Practice are recruiting for a Senior Accountant, where you will play a crucial role in a diverse environment that specialises in financial services, including Crypto, Investment Trading, and FinTech. This position offers a unique opportunity to not only lead on projects but also to mentor junior team members and progress towards a supervisory role.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Serve as the central point of contact for client work within a pod.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Take ownership of various areas of the file that you will be responsible for.
  • Review and file VAT returns.
  • Mentor, coach, and train junior team members, providing guidance, feedback, and on-the-job training to support their professional development and enhance their skills.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with the manager, providing regular progress updates, escalating issues promptly, and collaborating on resolving complex matters.
  • Proactively manage budgets and time reporting, ensuring accurate and timely recording of billable hours and adherence to agreed-upon budgets and timelines.
  • Foster strong client relationships by consistently delivering excellent client service, maintaining professionalism, and effectively communicating findings and recommendations.
  • Continuously enhance your technical knowledge, skills, and industry expertise through self-study, firm-provided training, and on-the-job learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices, and quality control processes within the department.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified or an equivalent internationally recognised professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant UK work experience.
  • Must have experience in FRS 102 1 A; FRS 10 2 experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience in managing multiple statutory accounts to completion.
  • Experience in sectors like crypto, stripe, PRS, or e-commerce would be advantageous.
  • Experience in VAT, Corporate & Personal Tax.
  • Thorough knowledge of current accounting standards, techniques, and best practice.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing and reporting on accounts with feedback to clients.
  • Ability to provide guidance/training to junior staff members.
