I am actively recruiting an Audit and Accounts Director Designate for a long-established firm based in Central London, with over 40 employees. Following an in-depth meeting with the Audit Partner yesterday, surrounding succession planning, I am eager to speak to ideally ACA qualified candidates who are eligible for RI status or who already are acting as a Responsible Individual.

With current Partners in the business winding down, and eager to retire in 2025, this is an urgent position as ideally there will be time for the incoming Director to be able to have handover time with the exiting Partners.

The London based practice is part of an international group which employs more than 1000 people globally in locations including France, Asia, and the USA. With annual conferences held in exciting cities such as Singapore and Luxembourg, there is opportunity for international travel! There is also a number of bilingual employees who are able to assist both international companies (SMEs) and investment funds, wishing to gain a London presence.

This accountancy practice is a true general practice, working across all areas of business and finance, including, audit, accounts, tax, payroll, business acquisition, disposal and international services. They also act for a number of personal tax clients including high net worth individuals, non domicilliaries and trusts.

What will this Audit and Accounts Director Designate role entail?

  • Split of work is 70% audit and 30% accounts and tax
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, including maintaining existing client relationships and developing new relationships, through business development and referrals
  • Clients vary across sector including, construction, retail, transport, manufacturing, property matters relating to development, investment and management, technology and communications, restaurants, wholesalers and retailers, UK subsidiaries of international groups
  • Clients range in size with turnovers up to £50M
  • Reporting standards are primarily FRS102 with a handful of IFRS
  • Software is Myworkpapers and Inflo
