Purpose: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Client Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting, particularly in managing financial accounts for commercial assets. You will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and reporting on all financial aspects of client property portfolios, including rent, service charges, and other operational costs.

Summary: This role sits with the Business Space Client Accounting team, which is a great opportunity within the property management industry, providing an opportunity to grow and get involved in our key commercial portfolios.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to clients (standard and client specific reporting) ensuring all SLAs and KPIs are adhered to
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of service charge income and expenditure
  • Point of contact for client queries, providing support and advice where necessary
  • Internal point of contact for Surveying colleagues working closely to ensure all client deliverables are met
  • Maintain/Oversee housekeeping of property & leases data on financial database
  • Assist with ad-hoc tasks as and when required
  • Management of client and property cash-flow and funding
  • Annual property service charge reviews and liaise with Asset Manager and Service Charge Team to ensure completion within best practice guidelines
  • Compliance with policies and procedures
  • Attend client and internal meetings as and when required
  • Instruct Treasury department (following the relevant approvals) of the following:

Collection of monies

Amendments to Client Accounts

Payment of client property related transactions

General maintenance of client funds i.e. tenant refunds etc.

Key skills:

  • Good collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Working to strict deadlines whilst achieving a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Strong analytical skills of all ledgers is required.
  • A property transactional background is highly desired.
  • Strong Excel skills is a must.
  • Ability to engage and consistently work well in a fast-paced environment
  • A team player but does not shy away from working on their own initiative, taking responsibility for their own workload and ensuring tasks are prioritised effectively

You’ll need to have:

  • Previous experience in a similar position.
  • Financial and technical reporting experience in a client service role.
  • The ability to work in a varied and evolving department.
  • A Willingness to learn and welcome opportunities for training and professional development.
  • Part Qualified (ACCA) or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate with all levels within the business as well as clients.
  • Confidence with a positive outlook
  • Ethical with strong integrity
