Commercial Accountant | Media Agency | Central London

Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a Global Creative Agency with their search for a Commercial Accountant to join their rapidly growing team out of their Central London offices. Turning over around £15mill, they have a current headcount of around 100 out of their London HQ and another 3 offices globally and are looking to expand further.

The Role:

Reporting into an experienced Financial Controller, this role will play a pivotal role supporting the rapidly growing finance team, where you will be collaborating with client teams on a daily basis. The role is exceptionally broad, where you will be responsible for supporting on revenue analysis, forecast & budgeting, and month end assistance. The role offers excellent commercial exposure and progression opportunities, with scope to move on to a Commercial Controller role long-term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue accurate invoices to clients based on contractual terms.
  • Control and manage WIP on all jobs, limiting risk on out of pocket costs by ensuring timely billing.
  • Building and maintaining billing policies and procedures within the business.
  • Ensure all revenue is recognised in accordance with accounting standards and agency policies.
  • Monitor deferred and accrued revenue, and to recognise revenue as services are delivered.
  • Working with client account management to understand and maintain WIP.
  • Address client inquiries and disputes related to billing promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with account managers to ensure all billable activities are captured and billed accurately.
  • Analysing and reporting on data to provide insights for senior management, such as servicing and client profitability.

What We Need to See (Essential Skills):

  • PQ or Finalist CIMA / ACCA / ACA
  • Experience working within a Creative Agency
  • 1-2 years' experience in a Commercial Accountant role or similar
  • MS Excel proficient
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Good all-rounder, proactive, team player

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Location: Central London / Hybrid
