An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-established, high-growth international business at a pivotal stage in its development.

Following a recent restructure, the business is now positioned for accelerated growth and enhanced profitability. They are seeking a proactive and hands-on Financial Controller to lead and elevate the finance function, ensuring rigorous financial control while supporting commercial expansion across multiple markets.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, leading the finance operations, and embedding best practices across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team (approx. 9 people) focused on efficiency, accuracy, and strong financial control.
  • Oversee all core accounting operations, including accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, treasury, revenue recognition, inventory and cost accounting.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes to tight deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure timely submission of regulatory filings across several international jurisdictions.
  • Maintain compliance with all tax and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Strengthen internal controls and develop robust accounting policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage daily cash flow, producing regular reports and forecasts.
  • Support international operations including transfer pricing, intercompany processes and tax compliance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities and other financial stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks and delegated authority guidelines.

Candidate Profile:

Essential:

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a similar Financial Controller role.
  • Deep understanding of financial reporting, accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing and developing teams within a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in financial systems, Excel, and process improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and accuracy under pressure.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a multi-site, international business.
  • Track record of improving financial systems and internal controls.
