A prestigious charity in London is seeking a Finance Officer to join their established team for 4 days per week until October. This role involves accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and supporting the Finance Director (FD) during annual audits, preparing management accounts, financial statements, and ensuring timely compliance.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Handle routine finance operations including managing day-to-day purchase invoices and reconciling them to supplier statements.
  • Set up payments on Bankline and post daily income receipts from Natwest onto Quickbooks & Salesforce; also post banked cheques onto Quickbooks.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to be signed off by the line manager.
  • Assist with monthly management account tasks by posting month-end journals.
  • Support the FD with Balance Sheet control accounts reconciliation.
  • Respond to general financial queries from staff, clients/beneficiaries, and suppliers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in finance operations, preferably within a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in using financial software like Quickbooks and Salesforce.
  • Experience in bank reconciliations and managing financial statements.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively deal with various stakeholders.
