We are working with a Local Authority client who in need of a Finance Project Support Accountant to help with the implementation of their new finance system.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  1. Work with the Finance Business Analyst (interim) on the drafting of a complete set of "How To" guides & Learning Materials, with a focus on a) The "golden thread" of the "finance rules" that flow from the Council's Constitution
  2. Prepare Excel schedules, as requested by the Finance Lead, to collate information regarding: Statutory & Management Reporting Requirements, Balance Sheet Control Accounts, Finance Module Users & their delegations and Cost Centre requirements
  3. Set up meetings for financial improvement and information gathering with stakeholders, as directed by the Finance Lead
  4. Work with the Finance Systems Accountant (secondee) and Senior Finance Business Partners on Balance Sheet historic data analysis and on Income and Expenditure data analysis, as directed by the Finance Lead
  5. Assist the Finance Lead in the design of the Best Practice processes for the new system
  6. Arrange User Acceptance Testing & Training sessions, as directed by the Finance Lead. Monitor and report on attendance. Collate Feedback from users. Participate in some elements of testing
  7. Assist the Finance Lead on the design and development of the Intranet for the publication of the Learning Materials

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  1. Have previous experience working within a project team ideally when implementing a new finance system in a local authority setting
  2. Possess previous experience in a Finance team with duties focussing around producing financial reports and balance sheet accounts
