Are you a systems-savvy accountant with a passion for process improvement and automation? Our client, a leading international exam board and education charity, is looking for a dynamic Systems Accountant to join our Finance team in Central London.
About the RoleAs our new Systems Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming our finance systems and processes. Working closely with the Finance Systems & Change Manager, you’ll drive automation, streamline data flows, and ensure our finance teams are making the most of our key systems — including SUN.
This role is ideal for a proactive individual who enjoys solving problems, implementing best practices, and providing hands-on support to end users.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Improvement & Automation-
Identify and eliminate inefficiencies in current financial processes.

Lead on finance system improvements and automation initiatives.

Collaborate with IT and key stakeholders to implement new tools and integrations.

Optimise financial data flows for better reporting and compliance.

Act as the first point of contact for all finance systems queries.

Troubleshoot and escalate technical issues as needed.

Maintain user access and enforce Segregation of Duties (SoD).

Provide training and guidance to finance users on best practices.

Safeguard the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Continuously review and refine finance system usage.

Support the rollout of system upgrades and change initiatives.

Develop and document robust audit trails and system controls.

Ensure systems meet compliance, audit, and business requirements.

Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

Strong knowledge of finance systems — experience with SUN is highly desirable.

Proven experience in process improvement, automation, or system implementation.

Confident communicator with excellent problem-solving skills.

Able to train and support users at all levels.
