New Financial Controller Opportunity in London £85-95,000 plus % bonus and benefits

Grafton Banks Finance is looking for a competent Financial Controller with relevant sector experience to join a flourishing business in London. This role is for a permanent Financial Controller, reporting to the Finance Director and requires an enthusiastic individual to take responsibility for a small finance team.

The Financial Controller will work closely with the Finance Director, Executive team and business to provide reports and financial insight.  A key measure of success in this role will be the modernisation of financial processes, internal controls and reporting.

Some of the key responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the month end process - managing and producing accurate Management Accountants, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. This role is hands-on.
  • Oversee the finance team and contribute to significant improvements to the finance processes and systems of the business.
  • Manage and produce accurate monthly and weekly cashflow forecasts with comparison to actuals.
  • Present financial reports to the executive team, providing insightful analysis and highlighting key financial trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Manage the production of the Annual Report and the Annual Audit, collaborating with all stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure a timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets, forecasts and long-term financial forecasts.

The successful candidate:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA or CIMA) with 5 years post qualified experience.
  • Previous experience of property investment / landlord/ facilities management (or very closely related) sector is essential.
  • Experience of producing management accounts, cashflow forecasting, financial analysis and budgeting, including designing the process.
  • Experience of managing and leading a Finance Team.
  • Advanced spreadsheet and IT system skills with knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
  • Experience working in an SME business is beneficial as the role is hands-on, not just reviewing.
  • Able to be in the office near Victoria, London, for 4 days per week, with 1 day working from home.
