Financial Controller (Tech/SAAS Business)

We are seeking a Financial Controller to manage our accounting function, oversee financial reporting, ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, and lead a high-performing finance team. This role reports directly to the Financial Director and plays a crucial part in supporting business operations through robust financial management.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and manage a high-performing finance team, providing training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial information.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounting processes, including variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain the integrity of financial information and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable function and optimise the use of ERP systems to streamline financial processes and reporting.
  • Manage tax compliance, including corporation tax, VAT, and other regulatory filings.
  • Prepare and file statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audit completions.
  • Oversee financial results consolidation across different business units and subsidiaries, ensuring accurate data integration and reporting.
  • Develop and implement strong internal controls, continuously reviewing and improving financial processes to mitigate risks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong academic background and professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Finance Manager/Financial Controller role or similar.
  • Proven experience in team management, including coaching and development.
  • Background in working with Big 4 audit firms is highly desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP systems, tax compliance, audit processes, and statutory accounting.
  • Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting, including understanding of intercompany recharges and multi-entity consolidations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in a multinational environment.
