A high-growth, PE-backed healthcare company is seeking a Financial Controller to join its team based in Paddington. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced SME environment, ideal for a technically strong and commercially curious finance professional ready to shape and scale a growing finance function.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a team of three and take full ownership of financial reporting, control processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end close process and preparation of the Finance Pack (P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow).

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of three (2 Management Accountants and 1 AP/AR).

  • Ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting; manage the full audit process.

  • Partner with the FP&A Analyst to support the annual budget and forecasting cycles.

  • Maintain robust balance sheet control and reconciliation processes.

  • Identify and implement system and process improvements across finance and the wider business.

  • Play an active role in cross-functional projects aimed at operational and financial improvement.

Requirements:

  • ACA qualified, with a minimum of 1.5 years' post-qualified experience.

  • Strong experience in a multi-site business environment (healthcare or services sector preferred).

  • Proven track record of people management and a genuine interest in coaching and team development.

  • Strong Excel skills and a deep understanding of accounting fundamentals, including double entry.

  • Comfortable working with systems and committed to continuous improvement.

  • Analytical and inquisitive mindset, with the ability to think commercially and solve problems proactively.

  • Ambitious, collaborative, and able to lead by example in a growing, dynamic business.
