Our client is a global award-winning creative Agency, looking to appoint a Group Financial Controller to oversee London, NY and Singapore at an FC level.

The Role of Group Financial Controller covers all aspects of financial and management accounting including group consolidation, as well as financial control of the business operations. Reporting to and working with the London Finance Director and Global CFO, the role will include responsibility for the financial reporting of the London business and consolidation of the Group reporting. Liaison with Finance teams in the US and Far East to report a consolidated Group submission.

You’ll play an important role in supporting and coaching colleagues in the Finance Team and building financial acumen in the wider business.

The role of the Group Financial Controller

Finance

· Providing effective control and management of all aspects of the Company’s finances and maintaining integrity of all financial information.· Managing and working with the team to prepare and deliver month end management accounts including a reporting pack comprising P&L, Balance Sheet, Forecast, cashflow to tight Group deadlines.· Intercompany billing and reconciliation of intercompany balances.· Preparation of year end accounts including all schedules necessary for audit purposes. Liaison with the auditors and management of the process in order to achieve a timely and efficient audit.· Working capital management, to ensure sufficient cash flow through timely debtors’ settlement and billing accrued revenue promptly.· Tax computation, compliance and submission· Ensuring that regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met where appropriate.

Commercial Management

· Ensuring 'no surprises’ and keeping agency and management equipped with relevant insights into business performance, reviewing financial and other KPI performance versus budget.· Preparation of first draft of annual budget including year on year analyses to assist appropriate decision making on allocation of budgets.· Prepare and present client and job profitability, time utilisation and recoverability analyses.· In depth understanding of status of client jobs, proactively acting to ensure all jobs are controlled, closed when necessary and no unnecessary cost write offs are incurred.· Working with the Ops Director, the preparation and actioning of job profitability analyses which involve regular liaison with Account Directors and Managers to understand variances from expectations, and the commercial and financial aspects of client relationships. Systems & Improvements· Assisting with implementation and integration projects in London and the Far East· Identifying systems and process improvements across business teams that will lead to greater efficiency. Managing the implementation and roll out.· Meeting regularly with the Finance Director to provide regular reporting and proactive commercial advice. Seeking out issues and putting a plan of action in place to resolve. Group· Consolidation of the Group month end reporting.· Ownership of the month end timetable.· Coordination and consolidation of quarterly reforecast and annual budgets.· Coordination of reporting (Recoverability, Utilisation, Capacity) ensuring consistency across all studios.· Design, Development and roll of Group tool & templates.· Ad hoc tasks as requested by the Global CFO.

Skills of the Group Financial Controller:

· Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA/CPA/ACA).· An in depth understanding of the deliverables of a finance function, with at least 2 years working as a Senior Finance Manager/Financial Controller.· Able to work to tight deadlines.· Savvy with technology and willing to embrace new systems and processes. · Intermediate-advanced knowledge of Excel. · Experience of the Paprika accounting system is preferable but not essential.· Great attention to detail and an understanding that the quality and accuracy of work underpins good financial reporting.· Ideally worked in an Agency or project based environment with a good understanding of Agency financial reporting and culture.· Proactive growth mindset, with a "can-do" attitude.
