The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in working directly with senior management, leading on all areas of statutory reporting and accounting treatments, and managing a specialist group finance team.

Constantly improving financial and reporting processes, the Group Financial Controller will lead on group finance activities and manage the group consolidation and ensuring compliance with global accounting standards. The ideal individual will possess the ability to influence key decision-makers, and a proactive approach to managing change within an evolving business environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the financial operations of the business to enhance internal controls and drive continuous improvement.
  • Managing group consolidations and statutory accounts preparation.
  • Supporting M&A activity and leading the integration of new acquisitions into the reporting process, ensuring seamless financial management across the group.
  • Liaising closely with the auditors to manage the year end process.
  • Driving consistency in reporting, ensuring all processes are system driven during development and testing phases.
  • Providing support to the broader finance team during year-end close and financial reporting.
  • Managing the year-end process to ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial statements and disclosures.
  • Demonstrating strong leadership and cultural sensitivity when collaborating with colleagues in different teams and across regions.
  • Driving process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.

The Candidate:

  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven ability to influence global finance teams to meet tight reporting deadlines.
  • Proven experience in managing group accounting processes and consolidations for a complex organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on approach, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset.
