About the client
Morgan Law are seeking an interim Group Financial Controller for a Charity in the London area.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for the preparation of Financial Statements for audit and liaising with the charities Group Auditors to complete the annual audit to the agreed timetable
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all Corporation Tax and VAT returns and ensuring that the charity is compliant with all relevant regulations
- Ensure the direction and priorities are identified, set and understood by all finance team members, and to take responsibility for the development and motivation of the team
- Prepare the management accounts for all the operations in line with the monthly accounting timetable
- Prepare and deliver the operational audit plan and timetable and conducting the Group Audit
- The post holder will be required to present relevant financial reports at Group Finance, Audit and Investment committees and subsidiary entity Board meetings
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant
- Recent experience working in a not for profit environment
- Knowledge of business operations processes, in a voluntary sector environment
- Knowledge of SORP, charitable finance regulations and key strategic and funder finance reporting
- Knowledge of corporation tax and VAT regulations in a voluntary sector environment.
- Knowledge of Company Secretary regulations for a Registered Charity
- Knowledge and experience of mergers and acquisitions and managing financial Due Diligence
- Assertive and strong communication skills with excellent listening skills together with persuasive analytical skills
