We seek a QA Reviewer for our Internal Audit Department. This role provides independent assurance on Internal Audit quality across a global Japanese bank, including its international branches and subsidiaries. Reporting to various Audit Committees, the QA Reviewer supports the Audit Department Internal Audit Group (ADIA) in evaluating key control designs, issuing around 80 annual reports across EMEA, and handling ad-hoc tasks. The role ensures compliance with the Audit Department Manual, prepares quarterly reports, identifies training needs, and supports the Professional Practice Group in Tokyo.
Position Description
The QA Reviewer supports a team of 68 audit staff across EMEA, conducting QA reviews on selected audit reports or key themes each quarter. Reviews also cover closed/extended Audit Findings/Management Self-identified Issues. The role assists the Audit COO and the Professional Practice Group in Tokyo with requested information.
Responsibilities
- Conduct timely QA reviews per EMEA audit methodology and IIA standards.
- Determine quarterly QA review themes.
- Conduct QA reviews per the Audit Manual.
- Agree on QA findings with relevant AIC/Audit Partner.
- Provide quarterly QA summary reports.
- Identify and communicate training needs; provide methodology-specific training.
- Advise the team on inflight assignments during live QA.
- Assist the Professional Practice Group in Tokyo during reviews.
- Recommend QA process enhancements.
Requirements
- Detailed knowledge of Internal Audit Policies and Procedures.
- Knowledge of Global Standards and Ethics of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and answer queries.
- Attention to detail for confirming factual accuracy in QA reviews and preparing Management Information.
- Educated to degree standard with a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent desirable).
- Previous internal audit/credit review experience.
