Financial Controller - Credit Risk & Products

We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity with our esteemed client, a prominent player in the Payments sector who have gone through enviable growth in the FinTech market and are now looking for a Financial Controller for a 6 month interim contract with a view to go permanent. As part of the Financial Reporting & Control team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring financial data is accurate, be responsible for credit products and areas of credit risk which are at the core of developing product offering as the business scale up their international operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the month end processes for reporting P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
  • Support with the statutory audit 
  • Build robust financial control processes and strengthening internal controls
  • Collating, manipulating and extracting key financial data and monitor transactions to ensure accuracy of key financial information
  • Work closely with the Credit Services team around business, product and operations to understand the performance of products and ensure transactions are correctly recorded
  • Maintain strong balance sheet controls, identifying opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes

About you:

  • Qualified accountant with experience in FinTech/Financial Services 
  • Strong accounting and technical finance knowledge in a controllership position
  • Experienced with credit products and provisioning for credit risk 
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards under UK GAAP and IFRS
