About the role

Financial Management Department is in charge of planning, organizing, directing and controlling the financial activities of the Bank. The department performs a variety of financial functions, including accounting and financial reporting, fixed asset and expenses management, budget and management reporting, taxation (indirect and direct), regulatory reporting and treasury (Asset and Liability Management). As a Senior Officer – Accounting, you will be responsible for the financial integrity, posting and reporting of a banking entity. You will ensure an adequate financial control is maintained including reconciliations and substantiations. This is a full time permanent position.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate accounting treatments of applicable IFRS
  • Provide accounting technical support
  • Prepare disclosure notes for financial statements
  • Liaise with external auditors
  • Provide assistance in the delivery of Head Office reporting
  • Provide ad hoc support when required

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Finance or Accounting
  • ACA / ACCA qualified or finalist
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Knowledge of financial products and services
  • Technical expertise in accounting operations under IFRS and ability to apply IFRS knowledge into practice
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly in the use of MS Excel
  • Team player who is able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
