Robert Half are partnering with one of the world largest privately owned shipping companies to recruit a shipping vessel accountant into their collaborative finance team.

Role:

Our client is looking to recruit a shipping vessel accountant on a permanent basis. Ideally candidates should be on 2 months notice or less.

    • Ensure accurate accounting for assigned vessels.
    • Prepare monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
    • Prepare monthly analytical review for assigned vessels.
    • Play an integral role in the monthly close process and ensure timelines are met.
    • Work closely with the Cost control team to ensure that capital expenditure, operating costs, other project related costs of vessels and new builds are properly accounted for.
    • Support the Accounts Payable function with the purchase to pay process including posting relevant journals and preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
    • Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate reporting.
    • Assist on ad hoc duties such as the annual audit, VAT returns etc.

Profile:

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience working as a management accountant in a shipping business. Experience producing management accountant specifically on shipping vessels is preferential. However, candidates doing management accounts within shipping in general will still be considered.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
