We are currently recruiting for a Tax Accountant to join a well-established professional services firm. This role involves end-to-end support in the tax return process, working closely with senior stakeholders and partners. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of personal tax, excellent organisational skills, and familiarity with relevant software tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of UK tax returns for self-employed partners.

  • Prepare and review personal tax returns with a high level of accuracy.

  • Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to gather necessary financial data.

  • Use commercial tax software (ideally Digita, although training will be provided if familiar with a similar platform).

  • Extract relevant tax information from the HMRC Government Gateway (e.g., payments, liabilities, and filing history).

  • Ensure all submissions are completed in line with current tax legislation and deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience preparing personal tax returns, preferably for self-employed individuals.

  • Ideally ATT qualified; CTA qualification is advantageous but not essential.

  • Proficient in using tax return preparation software.

  • Strong understanding of UK tax laws and compliance requirements.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.

  • Confident communicator, able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.

  • Previous experience within a law firm or similar professional services environment is desirable but not essential.
