A well-established not-for-profit organisation in London is looking for a Tax Accountant to take the lead on all tax-related matters across the organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, managing a broad portfolio of tax responsibilities, and becoming the go-to person for tax expertise within a values-driven organisation.
The Tax Accountant will be responsible for:
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, corporation tax computations, and other tax filings
- Act as the primary point of contact for all tax-related queries within the organisation
- Review transactions and purchases to ensure tax compliance
- Monitor and research new and emerging tax legislation to ensure ongoing compliance
- Liaise with HMRC and manage correspondence relating to tax matters
- Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide advice and support on tax issues
- Work with an external tax consultant for complex or specialist areas
Essential requirements are:
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant or tax professional (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ATT, CTA, or other CCAB-recognised body)
- Solid experience in taxation, including preparing tax returns and applying and interpreting tax legislation.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to research technical tax matters
- Confident communicator who can explain complex issues clearly to non-specialists
- Self-sufficient, organised, and willing to learn
