Trust Accountant - Herts

£40,000 to 55,000 plus excellent employee benefits

Our client is a leading law firm practice in the East of England Their Trust and Wealth department based in Herts and are specialises in delivering comprehensive tax consultancy to individuals and families, consolidating their entire net worth. Their clients are typically Ultra High Net Wealth (UHNW) individuals or families, each of whom are unique and receive a precisely tailored service.

Role Overview:

This role of Trust Accountant involves preparing trust accounts and tax returns for UK and non-UK trusts, estates, and high net worth individuals, as well as administering these trusts and liaising with trustees and advisors.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Prepare trust accounts and trust tax returns for UK and non-UK trusts and estates
  • The administration of these trusts, including liaison with trustees and other advisors
  • Prepare accounts and tax returns for trusts, charities, estates and high net worth individuals
  • Preparation of tax pool computations for offshore trusts
  • Administration of trusts, charities and estates

The main criteria for any candidate applying for this position is a combination of strong trust accounting skills and an awareness of onshore and offshore trust taxation matters. Other accounting and taxation experience will be considered if the candidate can demonstrate it is transferable. Ideally you will be:

  • ACA, ACCA, CTA or STEP qualified
  • Experience in trust accounting and aspects of trust taxation
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to delegate to and supervise junior staff
