London Fire Brigade, one of our largest public sector clients based in London are seeking a detail-oriented, VAT Accountant to join their finance team. If you have a passion for numbers and a keen eye for detail, this would be the ideal role.

Location: Southwark/London Bridge

Job Type: 3-month contract (with possibility of extension), hybrid work, 2-3 days in the office

Pay Rate: £400 per day via PAYE or £522.65 per day via Umbrella

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Reconciliations: Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of payroll accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Tax Reconciliations: Manage and reconcile tax accounts, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
  • Tax Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns and other tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
  • Compliance: Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyse financial reports related to VAT and other taxes, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
