Our VAT team is looking for a Senior Manager who can seamlessly connect senior and junior team members. In this role, you'll receive assignments from senior members, manage them independently, and directly engage with clients to provide top-notch solutions.

Day to Day Responsibilities Include but not Limited to:

  • Act as a key member of the VAT team, with a focus on managing and developing junior team members, and managing and servicing the client base.
  • Support the VAT Partner and other senior VAT team members to advise and support clients across a range of client types and industry sectors.
  • Develop strong and long-lasting relationships with clients by building trust, and through regular communication.
  • Manage a distinct portfolio of clients. Produce and review VAT advisory work and manage and delegate to junior team members.
  • Take responsibility for aspects of the team management and provide support and development to the junior team members in respect of work delivery and professional standards.
  • Train and develop VAT team members and organise wider VAT training to firmwide colleagues to increase their understanding of VAT risks and opportunities.
  • Act as the central resource for the Firm in relation to all VAT related activities.
  • Build and develop strong internal relationships within the business to identify and leverage VAT opportunities from within the Firm's existing client base.
  • Assist in increasing the external profile of the Firm's VAT offering, as part of the VAT Team's marketing approach and working with the marketing and business development team.
  • Begin to introduce new clients to the Firm as applicable.
  • Demonstrate a flexible, adaptable and proactive approach with a positive solution-focused approach.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required

  • Professional qualifications (Accounting, Legal, Tax)
  • 5-10 years' experience of providing VAT advice
  • Experience with VAT compliance requirements and HMRC procedures
  • Experience working with overseas contacts as part of a multinational network preferable
  • Experience of EU VAT rules and other VAT regimes outside the UK would be very preferable
  • A strong commercial approach to pitching for and delivering work.
  • A strong approach to professional standards in VAT.
  • Genuine ability and desire to build relationships within the Firm.
  • Confident and competent at delivering presentations and training.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills ·
  • Personable and approachable and keen to be involved in marketing initiatives
