- 3-Month FTC to Perm role

Responsibilities:

As an Accounts Payable Assistant, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of the finance department. You will be responsible for managing high volumes of transactions with excellent attention to detail. Your day-to-day tasks will include registering and batching supplier invoices, processing payments, reconciling supplier statements, and assisting with quarter-end close procedures. Your ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.

  1. Registering and batching supplier invoices for internal approval
  2. Ensuring all utility bills are approved and paid within a week of receipt
  3. Considering applicability of CIS deductions for invoices received
  4. Recording and returning any incorrect invoices rendered by suppliers for amendments
  5. Preparing weekly suppliers payment schedule for approval
  6. Processing weekly BACS payment runs and CHAPS payments as needed
  7. Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries in a timely manner
  8. Assisting with quarter-end close procedures, including accruals and prepayments

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for the Accounts Payable Assistant role will bring a wealth of experience from previous roles within the real estate sector. You will have a strong understanding of accounts payable processes, risks, controls and best practices. Your excellent attention to detail will enable you to manage high volumes of transactions effectively. Your knowledge of VAT/CIS applicable in the property sector will be crucial in this role. As a team player with a flexible approach, you'll ensure that suppliers are paid in accordance with agreed payment terms.

  1. Minimum 3 years experience in an accounts payable function within a real estate environment
  2. Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, risks, controls and best practice
  3. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of transactions
  4. Knowledge of VAT/CIS applicable in property sector
  5. Team player with flexible and positive approach
  6. Well-developed organisation skills and ability to prioritise workload
  7. Experience of using OCR invoicing system
  8. Strong proficiency in Excel and experience in using medium to large scale accounting systems
