We are seeking an experienced acoustician with 5 years plus years of relevant experience to join our Noise, Acoustics, and Vibration team in London. Responsibilities
As a Senior Acoustic Consultant, you will:
- Define project scopes and lead environmental and on-site noise and vibration measurements.
- Apply your expertise in Building and Architectural acoustics (e.g., sound insulation, reverberation times).
- Conduct environmental noise and vibration assessments independently.
- Perform computer modelling using tools such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA, NoiseMap, Odeon, and Insul.
- Design effective noise and vibration mitigation measures.
- Guide small teams on larger projects and develop strong client relationships.
- Deliver clear, concise technical reports and ensure quality control procedures are followed.
- Maintain corporate membership with the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA/FIOA).
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with:
- A Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Acoustical, Civil, Architectural Acoustics Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in acoustic design, environmental noise and vibration engineering, and relevant testing instruments.
- Proficiency in noise guidelines, modelling techniques, and calculations.
- Experience with software such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA, NoiseMap, Odeon, and Insul.
- A proven track record of building and maintaining excellent client relationships.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- A full, clean UK driving license and the ability to travel occasionally.
Day-to-Day
Your typical day will involve:
- Collaborating with clients to outline project scopes and deliver innovative solutions.
- Conducting site visits to perform noise and vibration measurements.
- Using advanced modelling software to analyze and design acoustic solutions.
- Leading small teams and mentoring junior staff on larger projects.
- Preparing detailed technical reports and ensuring projects meet deadlines and budgets.
